Pilot Coaters

With two world-class pilot coaters in Midland, Michigan, and Samstagern, Switzerland, Trinseo is well equipped to study paper and board coating and finishing processes in a controlled environment. These state-of-the-art coating facilities also play a vital role in our customer-centric approach to product development.

At both the Midland and Samstagern pilot coaters, customers can design new products and test paper coating components and formulations. The opportunity to carry out tests on systems that emulate customer equipment, at machine-running conditions, reduces the risk of future production stoppages on the customer side and also sparks new ideas.

Our two strategically located pilot coater facilities ensure access to high-level and practical Trinseo technical support and technological innovation.
